Emails Asking for Personal Information

Legitimate emails from Apple will never ask you to provide your social security number, mother’s maiden name, full credit card number, or credit card CCV code via email.

Billing Address
Genuine purchase receipts from the App Store, iTunes Store, iBooks Store, or Apple Music include your current billing address, which scammers are unlikely to have.

Sender Address and Links/URLs
While scammers can spoof sender addresses, legitimate Apple emails typically come from @apple.com or @itunes.com. Specifically, emails related to your Apple ID come from appleid@id.apple.com. Be cautious of links in emails or texts that direct to non-Apple websites. Mouse-over links to check the URL, and avoid clicking on them. Instead, manually log into your account through the official Apple website or your device settings.
