OpenAI will be establishing new offices in Singapore, Paris, Brussels, New York, and Seattle. These additions complement the company’s existing locations in San Francisco, London, Dublin, and Tokyo.
The Singapore office, set to open by the end of this year, will serve as a critical hub for supporting customers and partners across the Asia Pacific region. Managing Director Oliver Jay, formerly with Asana and Dropbox, will oversee international operations from this location. OpenAI is partnering with AI Singapore, a government-led initiative, to extend its AI technology and make its models more accessible to local languages and cultures. This partnership includes an investment of up to $1 million in AI Singapore.
In Paris, OpenAI aims to tap into France’s robust AI ecosystem, which has been heavily supported by the French government since 2017. The Paris office will enable closer collaboration with French developers, companies, and civic organizations to help them benefit from AI technology. OpenAI is partnering with the digital training organization Simplon to democratize AI knowledge and skills, particularly for under-resourced communities.
The Brussels office underscores OpenAI’s growing interest in the European Union’s policy landscape, particularly in the ongoing discussions on AI governance. Establishing a presence in Brussels allows OpenAI to engage more directly with EU regulatory developments, contributing to a regulatory approach that aligns with the company’s ambitions for AI safety and ethical use.
