As of this week, Apple has made a wide range of parts available for DIY repairs. These include displays, batteries, rear camera systems, TrueDepth camera for Face ID, back glass, top and bottom speakers, and main microphone. Users can order these parts directly from Apple’s self-service repair store in the U.S. and several European countries.

The iPhone 16 series has seen significant improvements in repairability compared to its predecessors, resulting in a higher repairability score of 7/10, up from 4/10 for the iPhone 15 series. This move is part of Apple’s broader effort to address consumer and environmental concerns related to device repairability, including offering return credits for used or damaged parts and aligning with the ‘Right to Repair’ movement.
