Users who have been blocked can now see the public posts of the accounts that blocked them. However, they are still prevented from engaging with those posts through comments, reposts, or direct messages[2][3][5]. Previously, blocking a user on X prevented them from contacting, following, and viewing the posts of the blocking user[2][4][5].
Elon Musk has expressed his dissatisfaction with the block feature, stating it “makes no sense” and can be easily circumvented by creating another account. He argues that this change promotes greater transparency and reduces the potential for doxing[2][3][5]. To maintain privacy, users can protect their posts, which limits visibility to only their approved followers. This also prevents search engines from indexing their posts and restricts who can follow their account[4].
